1935 Marx, Buck Rogers Rocket Police Patrol in Original Box
Outstanding example of one of the most sought after comic/space toys produced during the 20th century. Stark, bold contrasting colors, steel litho instead of tin, and a design which gives it almost lifelike qualities. Blue-green and red rocket with cartoon-like portholes and fins. Closely resembles a bird or fish. Single manned open cockpit with aluminum cowl, features Buck taking aim with ray gun. Toy makes a "boing-boing" sound as it moves while sparks shoot out from the exhaust, Comes complete with its exceedingly rare original box. It's a simple text style with instructions printed on one of the interior endflaps. Along with the Marx Buck Rogers Rocket Police Patrol the company also produced its 25th Century Rocket Ship. The Police version, especially with its original box is much more difficult to find although both are highly sought after. Size: 12". Sold: May 2002
